John le Carré (1931 – 2020)
John le Carré was a celebrated author in the spy / thriller genre. He died on 20 December 2020 at the age of 89. His real name was David Cornwell and he was a member of both the British Security Service (MI5) and the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6).

Le Carré first rose to prominence with his third novel, The spy who came in from the cold. His books have been made into both movies and television series and he became one of the most successful post-war English novelists.
